Clare Valley |
Colour |
In the glass, the wine has a concentrated ruby red colour with a violet and purple hue to the edges. |
Nose |
There are lifted berry compote aromas along with black cherry and a hint of spice and subtle savoury overtones from the French oak maturation. |
Palate |
This is an elegant wine with juicy flavours of red plum, blackberry and then more subtle spice. The palate is refined and elegant with the oak maturation bringing depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with a fine line of tannin, well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable. |
Oak Maturation |
The wine was matured in fine grained French oak barrels (20% new, remainder 2 - 3 year old) for 20 months prior to blending and bottling. |
Cellaring Notes |
Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions. |
